Apollo.io vs Clearbit (Breeze Intelligence): 2026 Comparison
September 10, 2026 · 5 min read
Apollo.io starts at $49/mo with built-in sequencing. Clearbit is now HubSpot Breeze Intelligence, credit-billed at ~$0.01 each. Full 2026 comparison.
How to pick a tool
Apollo.io is a live prospecting database with built-in email finding, verification, and sequencing, priced from $0 to $119/mo per seat. Clearbit no longer sells as its own product: HubSpot acquired it and folded it into Breeze Intelligence, billed through HubSpot's credit system at roughly $0.01 per credit. For cold email prospecting, only one of these tools was actually built for the job.
Apollo.io vs Clearbit (Breeze Intelligence): 2026 pricing and fit compared
Apollo prices per seat with annual credit pools. Clearbit doesn't have a price of its own anymore, it inherits whatever HubSpot's credit balance costs. Here's how the numbers actually stack up, per each vendor's current pricing pages.
| Tool | Starting Price | Pricing Model | Standalone Product? | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Apollo.io Free | $0/mo | 900 credits/seat/year | Yes | Testing the database before you commit |
| Apollo.io Starter | $49/mo (billed annually) | 30,000 credits/seat/year | Yes | Small teams running their own outbound |
| Apollo.io Professional | $79/mo (billed annually) | 48,000 credits/seat/year | Yes | Teams doing bulk email finding plus sequencing |
| Apollo.io Organization | $119/mo (billed annually, 3-seat minimum) | 72,000 credits/seat/year | Yes | Multi-rep outbound teams |
| Clearbit (Breeze Intelligence) | No standalone price | ~$0.01/credit (~$10 per 1,000 credits) in HubSpot overages | No, requires an active HubSpot subscription | Enriching contacts already sitting in HubSpot |
What happened to Clearbit, and why is there no Clearbit pricing page anymore?
HubSpot acquired Clearbit and rebranded it to Breeze Intelligence. It doesn't exist as a standalone product anymore. There's no public Clearbit pricing page, no self-serve Clearbit signup, and no Clearbit invoice separate from your HubSpot bill. Enrichment now runs through HubSpot's unified credit system, priced at roughly $0.01 per credit (about $10 per 1,000 credits) once you go over your plan's included allowance.
That means the real "price" of Clearbit in 2026 is whatever HubSpot subscription you already have, plus overage credits on top. If you're not paying for HubSpot, you can't buy this tool on its own. That's a meaningful difference from Apollo, where the $49 Starter plan is a real, self-serve entry point with no other platform required.
Which one actually finds and verifies emails for cold outreach?
Apollo.io. It's built as a prospecting database: you search by title, industry, or headcount, pull contacts, find emails, and push them into a sequence from the same interface. Breeze Intelligence does the opposite job. It enriches records you already have in HubSpot with firmographic and technographic data; it isn't a database you search to find net-new people to email.
Two lists make the split concrete:
- Apollo's credits cover contact search, email reveal, and sequence sends, all inside one workflow.
- Apollo's Organization tier gives 72,000 credits/seat/year, the highest volume of the four plans, per Apollo's pricing page.
- Apollo works without any other platform in place.
- Breeze Intelligence only activates on records that already exist in your HubSpot CRM.
- Breeze credits bill at roughly $0.01 each, on top of your HubSpot subscription cost.
- Breeze Intelligence has no independent search or list-building interface of its own.
Whichever tool you pull contacts from, run the list through a dedicated verifier before your first send. Stale acquisition-era data and catch-all guesses are still the two biggest sources of bounces in outbound campaigns, regardless of which database supplied the row.
Apollo vs Clearbit: the verdict for cold email teams
If your job is sourcing and emailing net-new prospects, Clearbit was never built for that, and Breeze Intelligence still isn't. It's an enrichment layer for a CRM you already run, not a way to find the next 500 people to cold email. Apollo is the more complete pick for anyone building an outbound list from scratch, especially below Organization's 3-seat minimum where a single Starter seat at $49/mo already gets you searching, finding, and sending.
Across 3,000+ qualified B2B meetings booked for clients, the pattern holds: teams that win on outbound treat the database as one piece of a stack, not the whole stack. Sourcing, verification, sequencing, and deliverability have to work together, and no single $49 or $79 plan replaces that on its own.
