Comparison

Attio vs. Cold Email Agency

September 28, 2026 · 6 min read

Attio is a flexible CRM ($0-$99/user/mo in 2026), not a cold outreach engine. Here's what it does, what it costs, and what it won't do for you.

The outbound math

1,000emails sent20-50replies (2-5%)10-20positive replies4-10meetings
What 1,000 well-run cold emails actually produce. An agency promising 50 meetings is lying or counting wrong.

Attio is a CRM built to organize contacts, deals, and pipeline data, priced from free to $99 per user per month in 2026. It does not build a prospect list, source new leads, warm up sending domains, or write and manage a cold outreach sequence for you. A cold email agency does that work end to end, Attio just holds the results.

Quick Answer

Best for: Teams that already have a pipeline and need to organize deals, not teams that need net-new leads.

Attio price (2026): Free for up to 3 seats, $35 to $44 per user/month on Plus, $79 to $99 per user/month on Pro, custom Enterprise pricing.

What it skips: List building, cold sending infrastructure, deliverability management, cold copywriting, reply handling.

Cold email agency price: Priced as a retainer or a charge per booked meeting.

What does Attio actually do?

Attio is a CRM built around flexible objects and relationships, so a sales team can model deals, accounts, and custom records without fighting a rigid schema. It syncs contact data automatically from connected inboxes and calendars, and it layers workflows, sequences, and call intelligence on top of that pipeline data, per Attio's homepage.

That makes it a strong home for data you already have. Reps can track deal stage, log activity, and run internal automations against records that already exist in the workspace. What it does not do is put new names into that workspace in the first place. Attio organizes a pipeline, it does not build one from scratch.

How much does Attio cost in 2026?

Attio runs $0 to $99 per user per month depending on tier, per Attio's pricing page. The free plan caps out at 3 seats and 200 emails a month, and unlimited email sending plus sequences only unlock on the $99/user Pro plan ($79/user billed annually).

PlanPrice (monthly billing)SeatsEmail limitNotable feature
Free$0/user/moUp to 3200/moReal-time contact sync, basic enrichment
Plus$44/user/mo ($35 annual)Up to 101,000/moPrivate lists, enhanced sending
Pro$99/user/mo ($79 annual)UnlimitedUnlimitedCall intelligence, sequences, advanced reporting
EnterpriseCustom, billed annuallyUnlimitedCustomUnlimited objects, security and admin controls

Add-on workspace credit packs start at $85/month for an extra 5,000 credits, per Attio's pricing page. A five-person team on Pro billed annually runs about $395/month before add-ons, cheap for a CRM. But price per seat is not the number that matters for outbound. The number that matters is cost per qualified meeting, and Attio's pricing page has no line item for that because it does not generate meetings.

What Attio doesn't do for cold outbound

Attio has sequences and email sending built into the Pro plan, which makes it look outreach-ready at first glance. It is not. A cold outbound program needs several things running at once, and Attio ships none of them as a managed function.

  • List building. Attio has no net-new sourcing engine. It syncs and enriches contacts you already added, it does not find companies that match your ICP and were never in your CRM.
  • Sending infrastructure. Cold email needs dedicated sending domains separate from your main domain, plus mailbox rotation across many inboxes. Attio sends from your connected account, fine for warm follow-up, risky for cold volume.
  • Domain warmup and deliverability. There is no warmup schedule or bounce-rate monitoring built into Attio's sequences. Send cold at volume from an unwarmed domain and the emails land in spam, not inboxes.
  • Cold copywriting. Attio's sequences run whatever copy you write. It has no framework for subject lines, angles, or follow-up cadence built for strangers instead of known contacts.
  • Reply triage. Once replies come in, someone has to read them, qualify them, and book the call. Attio logs the reply, it does not staff a person to handle it.

None of this is a knock on the product. Attio was not built to be a prospecting engine. It was built to be a CRM with an outreach layer attached, per Attio's own feature pages describing sequences as sitting on top of the data model.

When should you pick Attio vs. a cold email agency?

Pick Attio when the problem is organization, not volume. If your team already has warm leads, referrals, and inbound demo requests and just needs a flexible place to track them, Attio at $35 to $99 a seat is a reasonable, affordable CRM choice.

Pick a cold email agency when the problem is an empty pipeline. If you need net-new meetings from companies that have never heard of you, you need list building, verified emails, warmed domains, tested copy, and someone triaging replies every day. That is a full operating function, not a checkbox on a CRM plan. Modern Inbound has booked 3,000+ qualified B2B meetings running exactly that function for clients who needed volume, not just a place to store it.

Plenty of teams run both: a CRM like Attio to hold the pipeline, and an agency or in-house team to fill it. See our breakdown of cold email vs. account-based approaches for how the sourcing motion changes depending on deal size.

FAQ

Does Attio have cold email sending built in?

Yes, Attio's Pro plan ($99/user/month, or $79 billed annually) includes sequences and unlimited email sending, per Attio's pricing page. But sending capacity is not the same as a cold outbound program. There is no dedicated cold-sending domain setup, warmup process, or deliverability monitoring included, so cold volume through a primary connected inbox risks getting flagged as spam.

Is Attio cheaper than hiring a cold email agency?

Per seat, yes. Attio runs $0 to $99 per user per month. But that price buys a data tool, not meetings. A cold email agency is priced as a retainer or a charge per booked meeting, and it includes list sourcing, verified emails, copywriting, and reply handling that Attio's pricing page does not cover at any tier.

Can Attio replace a lead list building tool?

No. Attio enriches and organizes contacts already inside your workspace. It does not source net-new companies or people that match your ICP and are not in your CRM yet. See our guide to cold email list building for how that sourcing step actually works.

What's the actual difference between Attio and a cold email agency?

Attio is a tool you operate yourself: you still source the list, write the copy, manage domains, and handle replies. A cold email agency is a managed service that runs all of those steps and delivers booked meetings, typically priced as a retainer or per booked meeting rather than per seat.

If you want a CRM to hold your pipeline, Attio is a solid, affordably priced choice. If you want that pipeline filled with net-new meetings in the first place, that is a managed execution problem, not a software problem.
