Lusha + Outreach Integration Guide: Setup, Use Cases

Lusha + Outreach integration: 6-step setup, field mapping, and 4 pitfalls that tank deliverability. Zapier and native export options for 2026.

Lusha charges $39/month for 480 contact credits on its standard plan. Outreach starts at $100/user/month for sequences. Pay for both tools without a clean handoff between them and you're burning budget on data that never enters your outbound motion. The Lusha-Outreach integration closes that gap in about 20 minutes, but four specific pitfalls hit most teams in the first week and two of them will damage your deliverability before you see a single reply.

How the Lusha-Outreach Integration Works

Lusha pushes enriched contacts into Outreach as prospects, one direction, triggered at the point of export. There's no native bidirectional sync between the two platforms as of mid-2026. Teams that need live two-way updates run them through Zapier, using Lusha's webhook output mapped to Outreach's prospect creation API.

Here's the data flow: a rep finds a contact on LinkedIn using Lusha's Chrome extension, hits export, and the record lands in Outreach within 15-30 seconds via the Zapier trigger. First name, last name, title, company, direct dial, and email transfer automatically. Sequence assignment, stage tagging, and custom Outreach fields don't. Those require deliberate mapping in your Zap before you go live.

You don't need native sync to make this work at scale. The Zapier path is actually more flexible because you control exactly what triggers an export and which field values get pushed. Native integrations force you into their defaults. Zapier doesn't.

For batch enrichment rather than one-by-one capture, the flow changes. Export a CSV from Lusha's platform and import it into Outreach's bulk prospect import. This works on any Lusha plan and doesn't require API access.

6-Step Setup Guide

Setting this up takes about 20 minutes with admin access to both platforms. Lusha's API access requires a Pro plan at $69/user/month billed annually. You'll need an Outreach API token with prospect-write permissions before starting. Zapier handles the real-time trigger; Lusha's CSV export covers batch workflows without any API setup.

  1. Get your Lusha API key. Log into Lusha and go to Settings, then Integrations, then API Key. Basic and Free plans don't include this option. You need Pro or above.
  2. Generate an Outreach API token. In Outreach, go to Settings, then API, then OAuth Applications. Create a new app with prospects:write scope. Save the client ID and secret.
  3. Create a Zap in Zapier. Set the trigger to Lusha New Contact Exported and authenticate with your Lusha API key from step one.
  4. Set the Outreach action. Choose Create or Update Prospect and authenticate with your Outreach OAuth credentials from step two.
  5. Map the fields. At minimum: First Name, Last Name, Title, Company, Email, Phone (direct dial), and LinkedIn URL. Don't rush this step. Field mapping drift in month two is entirely preventable here.
  6. Test with 5 contacts. Confirm no duplicates are created and all fields populate correctly in Outreach before running at volume.

Field Mapping Reference

Field mapping is where this integration breaks most often. Outreach has 40+ custom fields and Lusha exports 15-20 by default. Skip deliberate mapping on day one and you'll have field drift by month two, when someone adds a custom field on either side and nobody updates the Zap. Document this on setup day, not after the damage is done.

Direct Dialphones[0].phoneNumberSet phoneType to work_direct

LinkedIn URLlinkedInUrlRequired for sequence personalization
Job TitletitleMaps directly, no transform needed

Watch the Company Name field closely. When it maps to accountName in Outreach, it triggers an account lookup. If the account exists, the prospect links to it. If not, Outreach creates a new account record. On bulk imports, this generates duplicate accounts for the same company under slightly different name spellings. Clean your company name column in Lusha before any bulk import runs.

Four Pitfalls That Break This Integration

Duplicate records, API rate limits, field mapping drift, and deliverability damage from unverified emails are the four failures that hit most teams in the first 30 days. Each one has a specific fix. Apply all four before you run this at volume, not after you've already burned your sender domain.

Pitfall 1: Duplicate prospect records. When Lusha creates a contact and Outreach also creates one via a separate enrichment tool or CRM sync, you end up with two records for the same person. Fix: add a Zapier search step that looks up the prospect by email before creating. Update if found, create only if not. This single step eliminates 90% of duplicate issues.

Pitfall 2: API rate limits. Lusha's API caps at 200 requests per minute on Pro. Outreach caps at 10 requests per second. Bulk-pushing 500+ contacts at once will hit both. Fix: throttle your Zap to 1 request every 2 seconds, or batch exports in groups of 50 with 30-second delays between them.

Pitfall 3: Field mapping drift. Someone adds a custom field to Outreach in month two. The Zap doesn't know. That field goes blank on every new prospect for weeks before anyone notices. Fix: document your field map in a shared Notion doc and set a monthly calendar reminder to audit the Zap against current Outreach fields.

Pitfall 4: Deliverability damage. Lusha email accuracy runs roughly 75-85% depending on industry and company size, per third-party contact data benchmarks. Pushing every Lusha email straight into an Outreach sequence without verification means bounce rates above 3-5%, which will damage your sender domain within 60 days. Fix: run exports through NeverBounce or Bouncer before they hit Outreach. Don't automate sequence enrollment until bounce rate is confirmed below 2%.

Use Cases That Move Pipeline

The highest-ROI use of this integration is one-click contact capture during LinkedIn prospecting. A rep finds a decision-maker on LinkedIn via Lusha's Chrome extension, pushes the contact to an Outreach sequence in one click, no CSV involved. Teams running this at 200+ accounts per week cut the time from identified prospect to first email sent from two days to under two hours.

Batch ABM enrichment at scale. Upload a target account list into Lusha's bulk enrichment tool, pull back contacts for each account, and push them into Outreach organized by account name. This works well for account-based motions where you're going 5-deep into each company and need Outreach to group and sequence prospects by account.

Pipeline attribution for leadership reporting. When a prospect replies in Outreach, that event triggers a status update in HubSpot via Outreach's native CRM integration. Combined with the Lusha source tag, you get a full chain: Lusha identified them, Outreach engaged them, CRM tracked the revenue. That's how you prove outbound influenced pipeline at a board level rather than guessing at attribution.

Pricing and Plan Requirements

Both tools require paid plans for API access and the costs stack quickly. Lusha Pro is $69/user/month billed annually, with 480 credits per month. Outreach starts at approximately $100/user/month. Zapier middleware adds $20-$50/month depending on task volume. The full connected stack runs $190-$220/user/month before additional seat or inbox costs.

ToolPlan RequiredMonthly Cost (Annual Billing)Key Limit
LushaPro$69/user480 credits/month
OutreachAny paid plan~$100/user10 API req/sec
ZapierStarter or above$20-$50/monthVaries by task volume

If you're prospecting fewer than 100 contacts a week, the CSV import workflow costs nothing beyond your Lusha subscription. The Zapier automation only justifies itself above 150-200 weekly contacts, where manual export cycles start eating more than an hour of rep time per week.

If you'd rather not manage this stack yourself, Modern Inbound handles data sourcing, deliverability, and sequence execution as a fully managed outbound service.

Scale Outreach Without Hiring SDRs

Most B2B teams underestimate the work before sending: buyer-language research, list logic, DNS, warm-up, deliverability, copy testing, and reply handling. Modern Inbound runs the operating layer so founders can stay focused on sales calls.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Lusha integrate natively with Outreach?

Lusha doesn't have a direct native integration with Outreach as of mid-2026. The recommended method is Zapier middleware using Lusha's webhook export trigger and Outreach's prospect creation API. For batch use, Lusha's CSV export into Outreach's import tool works without any API access.

What happens to duplicate contacts when both tools create records?

Outreach creates a new prospect record by default, even if one already exists for that email address. Add a Zapier search step before the create action: search Outreach for the contact's email, update if found, create only if not. Skipping this step is the most common cause of duplicate prospect records in this integration.

Can Outreach push data back to Lusha?

No. The integration is one-directional: Lusha to Outreach. Outreach has no native write-back to Lusha. For reply and engagement data in a CRM, use Outreach's native HubSpot or Salesforce integration to sync reply status and build attribution reporting there.

How do I avoid deliverability issues when pushing Lusha contacts into Outreach sequences?

Add an email verification step between Lusha and Outreach in your Zap. Lusha email accuracy runs roughly 75-85% depending on industry. Pushing unverified emails into sequences will push bounce rates above 3%, damaging your sender domain within 60 days. Verify with NeverBounce or Bouncer before the prospect create step.
